Suggested Meals and combinations
Here are some options for people who might be looking for complete meals that satisfy different preferences.
This page is under construction, so there are a couple categories that don't have many details. Please check back later.
I've never tried Thai food and am nervous about too much spice.
First, let us know that this is your first time. We will try to match the food with you preferences. For example, if you like Chinese noodles or stir-fry dishes, we might try the famous Pad Thai (stir-fried noodles) or Kao Pad Sapparod Goong (stir-fried rice with pineapple). Both are easy to adjust the spice on.
If you think you might also want to try one of the curries, a good one to start with might be Green Curry (aka Gang Kiew Wan): both are a little bit sweet and come w/ coconut milk, which tends to cut some of the spiciness. If you eat them with rice, you might find them to be fine for your palette.
Give me something hot / spicy!
Ok, let us know you like it hot!
How about Gang Pah or any of the curries, Som Tam, or Yum Talay?
I'm vegetarian. What do you suggest?
This depends. Some vegetarians will eat fish or fish sauce. If you are one of those vegetarians, we can make almost anything on our menu for you.
If you are more strict, we can substitute meat with tofu in many dishes. (Thai people love tofu!)
I have to feed a family of 5. Some like it hot, some not.
Hah! How about a couple orders of rice, some spring rolls.
I want to try "Issan" food
Traditional Issan food includes salads (like Som Tam or Yam), sticky rice.
Often, Issan food is spicy, but this can be reduced in many dishes.
